When Google launched its Engage for Agencies program back in May 2011, I was really interested in the partnership possibilities for our clients, and tdg immediately applied. We were accepted, which meant we had to go through some coursework and pass a certification exam. Aside from the extra training, we got access to great resources for our clients, including some very popular promotional coupons good for Adwords credit. But Google likes to make changes to everything they do, and their agency partnership program has been through a lot of iterations over the past few years.
I'm super proud to say that the tdg team has taken that partnership to the natural next step. Since January, everyone here at tdg has been Google Adwords Certified. That means that all of us have individually been accredited by Google as online advertising experts. To earn it, all of us took a set of exams designed to test our proficiency. Aside from a basic test on the fundamentals of Adwords, we also each passed a second exam in some area of specialization, like display or shopping.
Since everyone here is certified, anyone you meet from tdg is qualified to talk to you about online advertising strategies. We all have different areas of expertise (Sadie can tell you about mobile, while Derek is more familiar with video), but all of us are certified by Google in the fundamentals of search engine marketing campaigns.
And since SEM is designed for businesses and organizations of all sizes, it can be an effective tool for big budgets, small budgets, and everything in between.
